Life Drawing Basics
- Price: $285.00
- Number of Sessions: 8
This course is the perfect start if you’re new to drawing the figure, or if it’s been a few years and you’re looking for a fresh start. Basic principles of drawing will be covered in depth, beginning with measuring techniques and ideas about proportion. We will consider some of the basic structural features common to all 3-dimensional objects – planes, boundaries, axes and angles – and learn to use these concepts in the construction of a drawing. We will then move on to the most important structural characteristics of the human figure, including posture, movement, angle of view, contour and anatomy. Finally, we will explore light & shade and discuss several effective approaches for making drawings appear three dimensional.
I've had drawing classes before but I learned more in four weeks at Vitruvian than I did in four months at art college. I'm able to finish outlining the entire figure in a single session where it used to take me a week! This class pays for itself. Money well spent."
