Plein Air in the Tuscan Landscape 2008
Our 2008 trip is scheduled for May 24th - June 7th. ONLY ONE SPACE REMAINS! CALL US TODAY FOR MORE INFORMATION.
There is no place in the world that has been painted more or is more paintable than the rural landscape of Tuscany. Artists have been enthralled by its beauty for centuries, and the region has inspired some of the world’s most beloved paintings. What better place to acquaint or re-acquaint yourself with the joys of painting plein air than the picturesque hills of Tuscany?
Join us on one of our regular painting holidays to this unique part of the world. We will spend an intensive two weeks exploring Tuscan countryside that dates back to the Middle Ages. We will visit some of the most beautiful hill towns in Italy, enjoy a memorable tour of the Uffizi Gallery with an art historian, learn to cook traditional Italian pasta in a private cooking class, and take a day trip to Montalcino to one of Italy’s finest wineries for a private tasting. Through all of this we will stay in an authentic Tuscan farmhouse that has belonged to the Marchesi Grossi family since the 1700;rsquo;s and which has been recently restored with all the modern conveniences. But of course, landscape painting will be the focal point of our trip with excursions to beautiful and unusual locations, followed by informal critiques at the house. The perfect mixture of art and fun will enrich your travel experience in this beloved country – the cradle of the Renaissance and home to many of the finest works of art in the world.
